If you're using DSL, this really isn't a factor. The only DSL we really have in this part of is Sprint, and between Sprint DSL and Cox Cable, COX every time. Cox sells their 4mb stand alone internet for $49.95 per month. They will offer it for only $39.95 per month if you have cable service. You can order BASIC cable service from Cox for about $12.00 per month so really, you may as well have the basic service which gives you all the local channels (Although not digital quality as it will be from your satellite dish) since you're only really paying more per month for it. I figured that would give me some redundancy and my whole bill was still less than I was paying Cox before adding the satellite. But now I had many more channels and options, more HDTV, much better quality all digital reception and tons of more choices which I could turn on or off at will.
